Ghost is finished. Here is your first viewing of him. He is the 6th character from NeedleDeeva's Creepy Characters club/series (ND 0467-F).
I used Glow in the Dark threads for each of the Creeps... except for The Devil. Mostly, I used the DMC Glow in the Dark E940 floss. It is a nice thread to use because it is stranded and works beautifully with the laying tool.
I've used other Glow in the Dark threads in the past. After all, my passion is Halloween.
Rainbow Gallery introduced their Neon Rays Plus Glow in the Dark NP300 at the Columbus Market. I was fortunate to stitch with it on the Ghost. YEOW! It's awesome. Works beautifully, too. Rainbow Gallery also has another Glow in the Dark thread called Zoo Eyes (Z001) for Needlepoint: 13-18 count or Cross Stitch: 7-11 count. The things I have learned while stitching the Creepy Characters!
Here is a group shot of available Glow in the Dark threads.
So, what do you think? Might give it a try? Thanks to all of the awesome thread companies. You know how to put the fun into stitching. Oh, yes... here's the Ghost, too.
This week the Ghost goes off to be finished. Won't they be surprised. Thanks, Robin
OMG, Robin, I must have him! He glows, he glows -- all over. He is spook-tacular! Thanks also for the encyclopedic review of all things glow in the dark. I've gotta get me some of that. I see glowing Halloween stitching in my near future!
ReplyDeleteHi Missy. You are too funny. It is nice when our needlepoint can become a nightlight. Thanks, Robin
ReplyDeleteWow! Thanks, Robin. My knowledge of glow in the dark threads is nil so this is great information.
ReplyDeleteJane, wondering what to stitch that'll glow here in CH....
Hi Jane. Great to hear from you. There are now so many colors and types of glow in the dark threads. Exciting times. It's a meeting of science and art, don't you think? Thanks, Robin
ReplyDeleteIt looks GREAT!! Thank you for showing us all the glow in the dark threads and how they look!
ReplyDeleteHi Barbara. Thanks for your kind words. It was fun learning how to photograph the Glow in the Dark threads. Pat (my guy... owner of Business Visuals... www.businessvisuals.net) had me use a tripod, shutter release, and a really long shutter speed to let the glowing threads appear without a flash. Cool. I just realized NSH doesn't have a link to your blog. Gonna do it right now. Thanks, Robin
ReplyDeletei love how you took pictures of the threads in the dark - it really sells them!!! he's so cool!

I'm so excited to learn about all these glow-in-the-dark threads. Who knew we had such a variety! Thanks for the information.
ReplyDeleteNancy
Hi Ashley. Great to have you visit the NSH blog. It was fun to photograph in the dark. Good lessons from Pat. Thanks, Robin
ReplyDeleteHi Nancy. I've learned from the best (Jane/Chilly Hollow) to be a good thread-enabler. LOL. Thanks for your kind words. Robin
ReplyDeleteThis little guy could be Casper's little brother - they're both very friendly ghosts! Loved your glow-in-the-dark thread tutorial. I'm so impressed with your photography skills! Such a multi-talented lady!
ReplyDeleteLove it! Keep the fun coming, I love glow in the dark thread too.
ReplyDeleteYou must have a wonderful feeling and be so proud. This has been a wonderful project to watch from start to finish. Loved to watch the creeps take on their own little personalities, loved to watch you do the advertising design and photography. Such talent!! In my next life I want to come back as Robin.
ReplyDeleteOh, Becky... you are TOO kind. I have throughly enjoyed the Creeps. Each one would look at me and say, "What can you do for me, Lady?" Often I would dance around them... not really, but stitching the details surrounding them. Then, I say... come on.. let's do it for the Deeva. They would let down their guard and I would bring them to life. It has been fun and hopefully for those signing up, they will have as much fun as I have had. There is a 10th Creepy Characters on the horizon for me to teach at a lovely shop owned by Ruth Schmuff, her very self.... Oh, PINCH me, please. (P.S. I'm beginning the July e-newsletter tomorrow!) Hugs, Robin
ReplyDeleteHi Melinda. The nice thing about NeedleDeeva designs is that she gets the message across in a happy way. Thus, Ghost could indeed be Casper's little brother. Thanks, and again, congratulations to your wonderful blog, http://melindaslivingthegoodlife.blogspot.com/
ReplyDeleteHi Sheena. Good to hear from you. Thanks for letting me play Blog. And, please, let's thank Peggy who started this party. We hope she will be back with us soon.
