Hi Everybody... Robin here...

I am getting ready to teach another round of Canvas Enhancement classes this weekend at The Nimble Needle-Atlanta.

Here are the canvases which have been submitted for stitch guides. This has been a fun group including popular designers: Maggie Co, Melissa Shirley Designs, Shelly Tribbey, Treglown Designs (Charley Harper), Sandra Gilmore, and dede Ogden.

I am adding them to the long list of stitch guides I've written. You can see those on the Stitch Guide tab on the blog. Here's the link: Stitch Guides by Robin King

Now you can see why I've been away from blogging. No excuses. Just the facts. LOL.

As a peace offering, I will share with you a fun stitch I've recently designed.

I call it Triple Alternating Nobuko with Mosaic and Beads. Can't wait to see it stitched.

OK... that's all for now. I'll be back with you after my Atlanta trip. You can follow The Nimble Needle-Atlanta on Facebook for more daily postings of my visit.

Man! oh Man! oh Manatee!

Hi Everybody... Robin here...

It's amazing how this blog can reach so many readers. I am very thankful.

In February 2014,  I wrote a stitch guide for the Charley Harper canvas, "Manatee in a Mangrove" (Treglown Designs • CH-M062).

another great Charley Harper design

Last month I received an email from the director of the Sun Region, EGA in Florida. Their region is holding their retreat May 4 & 5, 2014 at Crystal River; the wintering location for manatees.

Crystal ... such a sweet manatee

Jan C. wrote... "Our theme is Crystal River Stitching, and Crystal, the manatee, is our mascot. We will be holding a fund raising activity and would love to include the Charley Harper manatee canvas and your stitch guide. The canvas is perfect for our event. Thanks so much for posting it on your blog."

The canvas & threads were gathered and sent from The Nimble Needle-Atlanta. My stitch guide was sent, too.

Thanks to Jan C. and all at the Sun Region, EGA (The Embroiderers Guild of America in Florida & Bermuda). And, thanks to Miss Crystal, too. She's a wonderful hostess.

Until the next time... Hugs, Robin

"Slippers" by Gail - Colors of Praise (MC-226)

Hi Everybody... Robin here...

Last October 2013,  I did a Canvas Enhancement class at The Nimble Needle-Atlanta. Gail A. selected a canvas called "Slippers" by Colors of Praise (MC-226) for some stitch suggestions.

She casually mentioned she did like to do beadwork. Boy, oh boy, did she ever! Gail finished the "Slippers" and here's some photos for you to enjoy.

I am very pleased how the entire piece turned out. Gail and The Nimble Needle-Atlanta did a brilliant job interpreting my vision and making a gorgeous masterpiece.

Here's the stitch for the Border. I call it "Slanted Gobelin over Laid Fill." You get a fun visual effect when stitching with light coverage. We used Elegance (fine twisted Silk Pearl #8) for the Laid Foundation and 2 strands Splendor Silk Floss for the Slanted Gobelin units.

If you are interested in this stitch guide just let me know.
Email me: creativecats@comcast.net.

Hope everyone had a nice Easter. I'm getting ready to go back to The Nimble Needle-Atlanta at the end of the week for more Canvas Enhancement classes. I will be sharing details in the next blog.

Until then...           HUGS, Robin
